Brigid says hello

Brigid

Thanks for stopping by to check out my collection. Basically, I'm either eating or creating, that pretty much sums me up.

I fell into art accidentally after a lifetime of being obsessed with fabric, colours, and textures.  My favourite childhood memories are hitting the fabric stores with my Mum & Auntie and sewing up a storm.  I started creating art around 8 years ago as a way to chill out after a stressful day. A few years later I showed some friends and gained confidence in it.

My method celebrates texture. I use spray painting, stencilling, drawing, painting and a lot of paper collage using fashion magazines.

I'm always striving to capture the vibrancy and beauty of little details that sit in the landscape. My art very much captures the local Victorian landscape where I live, on Wadawurrung country (near Ballarat).

I look forward to traveling more and bringing those experiences into my art.

The newest addition to my collection is the linen range, made in collaboration with Alperstein Designs in Melbourne. I was SO excited to see my art translated to fabric.
